The Bar Council of Gujarat also organized Law Advocacy Workshop on Criminal
Law at Karamsad (Anand) on 9th & 10th June, 2001 for the benefit
of Junior advocates of Kheda, Panchmahals and Vadodara districts. The said
workshop was inaugurated by Hon'ble Union Law Minister Mr. Arun Jaitely.
Hon'ble Mr. Justice M. B. Shah, Judge, Supreme Court of India was the Chief
Guest of the Inaugural Function. Hon'ble Mr. Justice D. M. ,
Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court presided over and Hon’ble State Law Minister
Mr. Hemant Chapatwala attended the Inaugural Function as the Guests of Honor. More than 800 participants
including the Hon’ble Judges of the Kheda, Panchmahals and Vadodara districts
who attended such workshop for the first time in the History of the Bar Council
for two days with utmost zeal and sincerity. The said workshop was spread
over in six different sessions on the different subjects of Criminal Law.
Hon'ble Judges of the High Court of Gujarat, Experts of F.S.L. as well as
Forensic Medicine, Eminent Advocates and Members of the Bar Council Gujarat
rendered their valuable services as Speakers at the Different Sessions of
the workshop. The workshop was proved in a grand success.
The Bar Council of Gujarat sponsors the promising junior
advocates to the various legal workshops and Seminars organized by the Bar
Council of India on various legal subjects and defrays to an extent the expenses
thereof.
The Bar Council of Gujarat had organized National level
Seminar on Judicial Appointments and Transfers in October, 1980
in collaboration with the Bar Council of India and
the decisions reached therein came to be popularly known as THE AHMEDABAD
DECLARATION.
Under
the auspices of our Bar Council, State Lawyers' Conferences were
also organized in December, 1983 at Vadodara and in February, 1986
at Rajkot in collaboration with respective Bar Associations. The
State Bar Council played pivotal role in the Lawyers Conference
organized at Surat in 1993.
